Description
What is SS-31?
SS-31, also known as elamipretide, is a synthetic tetrapeptide studied for its interactions with mitochondrial membranes and cardiolipin. Research explores mitochondrial bioenergetics and membrane organisation.
Check the supplier specification and any available batch-specific analytical documentation for identity, composition and suitability for your laboratory method.

Cell, animal and human evidence — mixed results
Laboratory research investigates SS-31 interactions with mitochondrial cardiolipin. In the phase 3 MMPOWER-3 trial in primary mitochondrial myopathy, elamipretide did not improve walking distance or fatigue versus placebo at 24 weeks. This does not support a general claim of proven energy, endurance or anti-ageing benefits.
